What people usually ask before calling.
The power went out in the whole house. Is that an emergency?
It is usually a breaker tripping because of a faulty appliance, and often we can trace it in the same visit. We work Monday to Friday, 8:00 to 18:00. If you smell burning or the consumer unit feels hot, switch off the main breaker and leave it off until someone looks at it.
How much does it cost to replace the consumer unit?
It depends on how many circuits the property has and whether the installation needs bringing up to current regulations. We look at it in person and give you a written quote before starting, with parts and labour separated.
Do you issue electrical certificates?
Tell us what you need it for — a new supply, a change of account holder, an inspection — and we will tell you exactly what applies in your case and what we can handle. We would rather look first than promise you a document that may not serve you.
Can you inspect a residential building’s installation?
Yes. Communal consumer units, entrance and garage lighting, and replacing fittings with LED. We hand you a report of what needs correcting and what it costs, in a format you can take to the owners’ meeting.
